Wind Turbine Generators
Our first generator design is a 3.0MW direct drive generator optimized for the high torque requirements of low and medium wind speed environments (IEC Class II and III). This generator will be available for delivery and testing in prototype turbines in 2013. We expect commercial availability of the 3.0MW generators in the 2013-2014 timeframe.
We also design to customer specifications based on our patented architecture. Our generator design is highly flexible and can be configured and optimized for a range of wind environments. Due to the unrivaled torque density and low maintenance characteristics of our air-core direct drive generator, our solution is uniquely well-suited for offshore applications.
Power Converters
Boulder Wind Power designs full power conversion systems optimized to leverage the unique and enabling characteristics of our breakthrough air-core generator. Our power conversion systems incorporate innovative grid compatitibility features for fault ride-through (FRT) and grid support to deliver reliable operation.
Design and Integration Services
With decades of industry experience, our team has a unique understanding of the systems engineering approach required to successfully design a wind turbine that incorporates the BWP generator. Our deep domain expertise and broad analytical capabilities enable us to compliment and augment our partners’ turbine system engineering and design resources.
