John Fedorko
Chief Commercial Officer
John is responsible for leading the commercialization of BWP’s revolutionary direct-drive, permanent magnet generator technology. John has an extensive and successful background in both utility-scale wind development and wind turbine procurement, having worked in the wind business for over 10 years. Mr. Fedorko, fluent in Spanish, most recently was the Global Manager of Business Development for GES, a multi-national construction, erection and maintenance firm based in Spain that served the wind and solar markets worldwide.
Prior to joining GES, from 2004 to 2008, the Dallas native/resident served as the Senior Vice President of New Markets, Procurement and M&A for Airtricity (later purchased by Eon) in the United States. While at Airtricity/Eon, Mr. Fedorko was responsible for developing “greenfield” projects or acquiring projects; in those two roles, Mr. Fedorko located and secured projects that today comprise over 1,100MWs of spinning turbines today. In addition, Mr. Fedorko was responsible for closing over 600MWs of WTG purchases for Airtiricty/Eon, at a value of over US$1.1b. Prior to working on the development side of the wind business, Mr. Fedorko was the President and Director of Nordex North America from 2000 to 2003. In that role, Mr. Fedorko established from scratch the Nordex organization in North America and closed WTG sale transactions with total deal values of over US$100 million. As the President of Nordex North America, Mr. Fedorko was also responsible for overseeing the O&M side of Nordex’ business in the US and Canada.
Before working in the wind space, Mr. Fedorko worked as a lawyer at O’Melveny & Myers LLP in New York City from 1996 to 2000. While at O’Melveny, Mr. Fedorko worked on real estate transactions initially but in his last 3 years worked on deals involving structured debt, M&A, and joint ventures. John graduated from Tufts University in 1988 with a degree in History and Political Science and received a joint MBA and JD from the University of Texas at Austin in 1996. He was also a former Peace Corps Volunteer (Honduras 1989 to 1991).
