About the Job
Boulder Wind Power is currently seeking an experienced individual to expand technical expertise regarding the mechanical and electrical properties of our unique composite stator. We are looking for a candidate with a combination of strong technical skills and experience characterizing and testing composite materials. In addition, experience with electrical insulation system design and testing techniques is strongly desired.
Successful candidates must be ‘hands-on’ and be willing to work in an interactive, fast-paced technical environment. The individual will be expected to adapt quickly to the challenges of clean-sheet engineering, and work closely with the entire technical organization in a collaborative manner on cross-functional tasks.
Responsibilities
Specific job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Characterize basic and long term mechanical and electrical performance of printed circuit board composites used in BWP’s unique stator design through fundamental research and the development and execution of subsystem test programs
· Develop mechanical and electrical design rules for printed circuit board composites used in BWP’s unique stator design
· Perform technical qualification of material suppliers
· Participate in design process including:
o meeting new product introduction process deliverables
o design reviews
o optimization of cost / performance of components and subsystems
o identifying technical risks
o developing risk mitigation strategies and plans
Qualifications

The successful candidate must have the following qualifications and attributes:
· A degree in Engineering or Science related to materials, Chemistry, or Polymer Physics
· A minimum of 5 years’ experience in material testing of composites.
· Proficient in data reduction and analysis

· Willing to adapt to changing assignments and schedules through an agile, proactive, work ethic
· Demonstrated ability to learn new skills

In addition, the following qualifications and attributes are strongly desired:
· Advanced degree in Materials Engineering, Chemistry, or Polymer Physics
· Experience with accelerated life testing program development and execution
· Experience with LabView
· Knowledge of electrical insulation system design and testing techniques
